FULL TIME POSITIONS

Purpose of Job:

Drive gas or diesel bus on routes and field trips as assigned, observing state and city speed limits and safety regulations as well as customer service and safety policies.  Maintain campus grounds and fleet vehicles in a clean and attractive manner.  Monday - Friday, various shifts available.

Education and Experience:  

  1. High School or GED preferred.
  2. Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License (CDL A or B) w/ passenger and school bus endorsement or must obtain within 120 days.
  3. School Bus Certification or must obtain within 120 days.
  4. Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug test.
  5. Previous landscaping & grounds maintenance preferred.
 
 
 

 

PART TIME POSITIONS

Purpose of Job:

To provide general labor in order to maintain campus grounds and facilities in a clean and attractive manner.      

Major Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:
  • Essential Functions of the Job:
    • Supports and promotes the Southern Tech adopted quality initiatives including the Baldrige criteria, Oklahoma Quality Award Foundation criteria, Tech Centers That Work, and Lean Office.
    • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvements in services to customers.
    • Supports and assists in the development and execution of the Southern Tech strategic plan.
    • Maintain the physical plant and grounds in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition.  Duties include but not limited to cleanliness & care of parking lots, flower beds & other outside areas, painting fencing, striping parking lots and other general maintenance duties.
    • Sustain 5S shop practices.
  • Other:
    • Perform other duties, assume responsibilities and exercise other authority as may be required or directed upon by Supervisor, regulations or the Board of Education.
 
Organizational Relationships:
  • Reports to: Facilities Director
 
Education, Knowledge, Skill, & Experience Requirements:
  • Education and Experience:
    • Current Student, High School or GED required.
    • Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
    • Previous experience or training in general labor duties required; landscaping and grounds maintenance preferred
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Working knowledge of computerized office programs, Oklahoma School law, federal and state laws, and the Southern Tech education system.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and the Board of Education. 
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Ability to function professionally during high stress situations.
    • Ability to read and interpret common technical journals, labels, directions, and instructions; including blueprints.
    • Ability to make estimates and material list; remaining within budget.
    • Working knowledge of electrical, heating, and air conditioning units.
    • Working knowledge of equipment used in maintenance of the school.
    • Ability to operate machines, hand tools, and power tools.
    • Must exhibit a positive and friendly attitude.
    • Effective communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Stand or walk for extended periods.
    • Manipulate computer keyboard.
    • Keen hearing:  (ability to listen to others)
    • Vision:  Close and distance vision required.
    • Be able to communicate through spoken and written word.
    • Be able to properly and legally operate a school vehicle as required to travel on behalf of the district.
    • Must be able to lift, push, and pull pieces of equipment and supplies weighing 50 to 100 lbs in normal daily operations.
    • Regularly lifts up to 35 lbs. (occasionally up to 50 lbs.).
    • Ability to bend, stoop and squat.
    • Ability to operate hand and foot levers/pedals.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily walking or working near moving mechanical equipment, fumes or airborne particles, paint or other chemicals and outdoor weather conditions.
 
 

Purpose of Job: 

Teach or instruct vocational or occupational subjects at the postsecondary level to students who have graduated or left high school. Subjects to be taught include technical & industrial trades, business skills, health careers, safety, leadership skills, and  life long learning classes. Teaching may take place at the Career Tech, at a satellite facilities  or at a business location.  Availability will be on a part time as needed basis throughout the fiscal year. 

Requirements: 

At least 3 years of experience in the last 5 years in area of instruction and/or specific trade certification, if required.

 

Subject matter experts needed to instruct classes in the absence of the regular instructor. 

 

Requirements include:

  1. Certification in the subject matter area if required by the governing agency.
  2. Three - Five years experience in the subject matter area.
  3. Experience with a learning management system preferred.
